Kothagudem will be Maoist-free: DGP Mahender Reddy

DGP M Mahender Reddy said that steps were being taken to make Bhadradri-Kothagduem Maoist-free district. He visited the district on Wednesday and participated in various programmes.
Kothagduem: DGP M Mahender Reddy said that steps were being taken to make Bhadradri-Kothagduem Maoist-free district. He visited the district on Wednesday and participated in various programmes. The DGP inaugurated Battle Obstacle Assault Course (BOAC), firing range and parade grounds at the district police headquarters located at Hemachandrapuram near Kothagudem. He told the district police officials to be prepared to train the youth for police recruitment drive, which the State government has announced recently. Priority would be given to local youth of respective districts, he said.
Speaking to the media, the DGP said the district police officials have been working effectively in preventing the movements of Naxals into the district from the neighbouring Chhattisgarh State. Modern technology has been employed to track the Maoist's activities.
The department officials were reaching out to the youth in villages and educating them not to join the Naxal movement, Mahender Reddy noted.
The police have been striving to take the State and Central governments' schemes into the public. With the help of the State government, all required facilities were being provided to the police personnel, he added.
DGP Mahender Reddy appreciated Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt, Additional SP (Operations) V Tirupathi and
the special party police in containing the Maoists. He expressed pleasure at setting up a helipad at the district police headquarters.
Later the DGP inspected Gundal police station in the district. Additional DGP (Grey Hounds) K Srinivas Reddy, IG (Warangal range) Y Nagi Reddy, IG (SIB) B Prabhakar Rao, Addlitional SP (AR) B Krishnaiah, Bhadrachalam ASP Vineeth were present.
