Kothagudem: Podem Veeraiah appointed as district Congress chief

Bhadrachalam MLA Podem Veeraiah was appointed as Bhadradri-Kothagudem Congress party chief on Friday. All India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal released an appointment order with regard to Podem’s elevation.
Kothagudem: Bhadrachalam MLA Podem Veeraiah was appointed as Bhadradri-Kothagudem Congress party chief on Friday. All India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal released an appointment order with regard to Podem's elevation. Podem Veeraiah has been elected as MLA of Bhadrachalam in 2018 Assembly elections.
Earlier, he was a two-time MLA from Mulugu constituency in 1999 and 2004. After the Assembly elections in the State, the Congress party had appointed Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateswara Rao as the district party chief.
The post fell vacant after Vanama joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi. After his appointment, speaking to The Hans India, Podem said he would work for strengthening the Congress party in the district.
