Komati Jr, Kancharla lock horns at Panchayat Raj Sammelanam in Nalgonda
The Munugodu MLA accuses the State government of talking high about Palle Pragathi and allocating meager funds for the villages
Nalgonda: A war of words and serious augments broke out between Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and Nalgonda MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy on the dais during the Panchayat Raj Sammelanam held at Beet Market in Nalgonda on Wednesday.
During his speech, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy stated that the State was not being developed as per the expectations of the people and in villages, the development has been stalled with gram panchayats not getting sufficient funds under the State government flagship program Palle Pragathi.
Stating that most of the villages in his constituency were in pitiable condition due to poor sanitation and three persons have died of dengue fever, Komatireddy urged the Collector to take initiation so that the Palle Pragathi was not confined to papers, but propel real development.
Enraged over Komatidreddy's allegations, Nalgonda MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy come down heavily on Raj Gopal Reddy and listed out the welfare schemes taken up by the State government one by one and described Raj Gopal Reddy as a blind person. He held Rajgopal Reddy's brother and former MLA of Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy responsible for the pity condition of Nalgonda constituency and the district.
During Bhupal Reddy's speech against Komatireddy brothers, the TRS workers raised slogans in favour of Bhupal Reddy.
Irked over this Rajgopal Reddy took the microphone and got into arguments with MLA Bhupal Reddy and at one point both the leaders moved forward for physical attacks. However, the police and other leaders who were on the dais controlled both the leaders and brought the normalcy. Later continuing his speech, Bhupal Reddy stated that he had no intention to insult anyone but leaders of the opposition have to give suggestion in a constructive way instead of sarcastic manner.
Chief guest for the programme Minister Jagadish Reddy, in his speech, stated that the credit of driving away hunger from the State goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and people of the State were clever enough and gave verdict in favour of pink party in the elections held so far. He further added that the State government was trying its level best to transform barren lands into fertile through minor and major irrigation projects in the State.
He asserted that Panchayat Raj Sammelanam was organised to discuss the present status of villages in the district and works to be carried out in future to develop rural areas, but not for political arguments.
Nalgonda Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil, Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, MLAs Ravindra Kumar and Kishore Kumar, MLCs, district officials, other leaders and local body representatives from across the district participated in the programme.
