Kodangal cops pull curtains down on kidnap case

Kodangal: The Kodangal police on Thursday finally brought the curtains down on a kidnap case that was filed in Langar House police station in Hyderabad on Wednesday by rescuing the five-year-old girl Vaishnavi and arresting the kidnapper Phakeerappa.

According to sources, Phakeerappa of Angadi Raichur village in Kodangal mandal had kidnapped the little girl, Vaishnavi, by luring her with chocolates from her house in Langar House in Hyderabad on Wednesday and brought her to his village. Soon, Vaishnavi's parents Chiranjeevi and Jyothi lodged a missing complaint at the Langar House police station.

The Kodangal police, who were already been alerted by the Hyderabad police regarding the kidnapping of the girl, received a tip-off from Angadi Raichur villagers that Phakeerappa had brought a girl with him.

Soon after receiving information, the Kodangal police swung into action and arrested Phakeerappa and rescued the girl.

Later, the police sent the girl for a health check. Upon enquiring, the girl said Phakeerappa had subjected her to torture by twisting her hands and she was beat up several times.

"We have rescued the girl from the clutches of kidnapper and sent for medical check. We will hand over her to her parents as early as possible after completing all the formalities," said Kodangal Circle Inspector Nageshwar Rao.
