Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof Kodandaram in a letter to Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy alleged that the arrests of his party members was indiscriminate.

He also urged to grant them permission to visit Nallamala area and allow to talk to the locals in Amrabad and Padara mandals, where the government proposed to Uranium mining along with the activists of the movement.

Kodandaram in his letter to DGP alleged that his party members were arrested on 3 August and 14 August under section 151 Cr P C, when they were on the way to Mannanur in Veldanda.

The local police took them into custody on the pretext that it is difficult to provide security to both wildlife and people visiting the restricted areas in Nallamala reserve forest.

"It is the discriminatory attitude towards TJS party, which is against the law, the constitution and the democratic norms. The reasons offered for the detention were frivolous," he added.
