Kodandaram demands fair compensation for Baswapur oustees

Yadadri-Bhongir: Telangana Jana Samithi founder president Professor Kodandaram stated that the State government had betrayed the oustees of Baswapur reservoir by carrying out constructions without paying compensation to them according to the Land Acquisition Act 2013.

On Tuesday, he toured Baswapur village of Bhongir mandal in the district. Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram expressed his outrage over the State government cheating the oustees by not deciding compensation to them. He demanded the government to pay compensation immediately in a transparent manner.

Accusing the government of doing injustice to all oustees of various irrigation projects in the State, the TJS chief urged the government to prove its sanctity towards farmers by doing justice to oustees of Baswapur reservoir.

He informed that meetings would be held in villages under threat of inundation under Baswapur reservoir to create awareness among them about the Land Acquisition Act 2013.

Kodandaram further raised objections over sending oustees to jail who had questioned the government regarding compensation.
