Tension prevailed at Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) here on Saturday as Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest over the irregularities in Intermediate Public Examination-2019 (IPE-2019) results.
Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) here on Saturday as Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest over the irregularities in Intermediate Public Examination-2019 (IPE-2019) results.
Led by the ABVP Greater Hyderabad secretary P Srihari, the protesting students alleged hundreds of students are not able to figure out their results in the examination as they are not in a position to discern the codes 'AF' and 'AP' appeared on the online mark lists provided by the Board.
Demanding the resignation of TSBIE Secretary Dr A Ashok due to the irregularities that cropped up in the IPE-2019 results, the protestors complained against the Board officials asking the students to present their hall tickets to verify and give the results.
Srihari said several students appeared in the IPE-2019 examinations were shocked to see the online mark lists showing that they were absent for the examination.
He said that the issues have been brought to the notice of the Board.
However, instead of taking action against those responsible, the Board is putting the burden on the students to prove that they have attended the examination, so as to take further action, he added.
Similarly, the SFI students during their protest alleged that students from the rural areas are the worst affected due to the faulty results announced by the TSBIE.
Results of thousands of students were kept in pending resulting in both the students and their parents worrying about the fate of their wards, they opined.
The protestors alleged that the Board officials are trying to control the damage caused only after the results are declared than taking precautions before announcing the results.
The protests have disrupted the traffic movement near the TSBIE office at Namapally. Following this, the police arrested the protesting students of the ABVP and SFI.
