Hyderabad: Telangana Employees Association protests for revival of old pension system

Dharna Chowk: Telangana Employees Association (TEA) and National Old Pension Restoration United Front staged protest here on Sunday, demanding that the union government for revival of old pension system and scrapping of the new Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Representatives of the united front from various states participated in the hunger strike. Speaking on the occasion, the national president of old pension restoration united front, BB Singh Rawat, described the CPS as curse on government employees. He said that the new system did not provide adequate life security. He demanded the government to withdraw CPS and restore the old pension system.

Telangana employees' association president Chilagani Sampath Kumar Swamy demanded both the central and state governments to revive old pension system. He urged the CM KCR to review the new pension system and form a committee to discuss disadvantages of the new system.
