Hyderabad: Tconsult reaches out to 10,000 thru e-Doctor
People access specialised doctors’ free advice including e-Prescription via the app
Hyderabad: Tconsult, the telemedicine services started in Telangana State supported by Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA), has offered 10,000 free virtual doctor consultations so far since its launch. Now, the effort will be to bring more specialists into the fold to cater the services to more people.
Within Telangana, the service was first launched on a pilot basis in Makthal mandal of Narayanpet district. It later was launched in Mulugu, Warangal, Karimnagar and Medak as well.
Among others, the app has come handy to the scores of police personnel and their families. The app has also been used by NRIs.
TITA global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that the app has helped many people to access specialised doctors medical advice including e-Prescription without having to step out of their houses.
"The service has come handy particularly in rural areas where people have to spend more time and resources to reach a medical facility due to the distance factor.
Some NRIs staying in France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay too accessed the medical advice through Tconsult," he added.
Makthala said feedback from various quarters would be used to improve the service. The app already has been revamped. He said that some doctors have expressed that they cannot continue to offer the services free of cost.
Based on this feedback, an appropriate revenue model will be evolved in days to come; he said adding that the fee for the consultations will be integrated with Telangana Government's T-Wallet payment gateways.
