Hyderabad: As part of the 'International Women's Day – 2020' celebrations with the theme "#eachforequal" sensitisation of working women / PG women hostel started with "Project Safe Stay". Hostel and PG accommodation service providers were invited for awareness and governance session, to promote and provide a safe and secured living for women, held at Rachakonda Commissionerate on Monday.
To cover hostels and PG's which were becoming inevitable for the working women and career aspirants relocating to Hyderabad, the Rachakonda police audited around 180 hostels within Commissionerate limits as part of "Safe & Shielded Living' and observed the need to strengthen with a sturdy guideline.
Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional Commissioner of Police Sudhir Babu, RKSC Secretary Satish, VC Das Gunalan, Joint Secretary Women's forum Latha, Margdarshak Archana , Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Salima, Shilpavali and Deputy Commissioner Malkajigiri Rakshita formally launched the 10 commandments and explained the importance of each of it, which are to be mandatorily adhered by all the service providers. Commissioner of Police also additionally demonstrated the ease to use fire extinguisher.
Chief Guests Upender Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, GHMC, and Dr Mamata Raghuveer, founder, NGO Achanta, graced the occasion. Upender Reddy highlighted norms which hostel owners were expected to adhere. He also insisted on the regulatory norms including hostel registrations, commercial registration, food safety, sanitary certification, fire safety norms.
Dr Mamata congratulated the Rachakonda Police team in organising the unique event of having an awareness session on the guidelines together with police and the hostel owners which was first of its kind.

March 7 - Mega conclusion programme with 3,000 students, women and men will be organised at Saroornagar indoor stadium with Home Minister Mohammad Ali, Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, DGP Mahender Reddy as chief guests.
