Hyderabad: Over 30,000 violations in just about 50 days

• Maximum cases booked for violations of triple riding, over speeding, and signal jumping

• Falaknuma, Sultan Bazar, Asif Nagar Malakpet, Kachiguda, Nampally, and Basheerbagh witnessed high number of violations

Hyderabad: Triple riding and over speeding seem to be the order of the day. The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 30,108 cases against traffic violations from January to February 17. A maximum number of cases were booked for the violations that include triple riding, over speeding/dangerous driving, and signal jumping.

In 2018, 1,30,656 cases and in 2019, 1,69, 089 cases were booked for traffic violations. Falaknuma, Sultan Bazar, Asif Nagar Malakpet, Kachiguda, Nampally, and Basheerbagh are the areas where a higher number of violators reported. Speaking to THI, Anil Kumar, Addition CP (Traffic), said, "Due to lack of civic scene besides being in a hurry, commuters take right or U-turns even after the signal turns from green to red. Also, some of them drive very dangerously without obeying traffic rules and break the traffic laws. The violators are, especially, two-wheelers and trucks. The number of violations occurs in the night time and during peak hours."

• Overspeeding /dangerous driving: 1000 for each case

• Triple riding fine: 1200 for each case

• Signal jumping: 1000 for each case
