Patancheru: Sangareddy District Collector M Hanumanth Rao on Thursday announced the suspension of Vavilal Forest Beat Officer A Venkatesh after the saplings planted on either side of the Indresham-Peddakanjarla Road, in Patancheru mandal, were found to have withered.
The Collector's action follows his surprise inspection of the saplings during the day, an official release stated. Rao expressed his ire after he found many of the saplings withered. The DC immediately announced the suspension of Venkatesh.
According to the release, the saplings got dry as no watering was done. The Collector directed the beat officer to plant samplings in place of those that had gone dry, with a warning that strong action would be taken if the saplings planted during the 'Haritha Haram' programme were not protected.
