Hyderabad: The Transport department rolled out the new online facility of e-bidding for fancy registration numbers of vehicles on Wednesday.
Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar who inaugurated the online service, said that the e-bidding facility would help earn more revenue to the department.
People can go for registration from anywhere without coming to the office for the fancy registration numbers. With this the department has made 59 of its services online, said the Minister.
He said that the revenue of the department has gone down this year. However, he said that the revenues were good compared to the other States.
The Minister further said that the TSRTC would soon start the cargo services. About 50 buses are ready for the cargo services and it was decided to start the services by this month end but it would be started soon after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gives time, said the Minister adding that the services would either be started from the first week or before February 10.
The Minister said that a new RTC would be coming up before the people of the State. "We have made Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as the brand ambassador for TSRTC. Very soon you will find slogans urging people to prefer government owned RTC buses instead of private buses with the pictures of CM KCR on the buses," said the Minister.
He informed that for the first time after many months, the TSRTC employees got salary without depending on government assistance.
The Corporation generated Rs 16.8 crore revenue during the Sankranti festival, which was Rs 6 crore more than that of the previous year. He said the corporation would be trying to reach out to the people even during the Jatara time also by operating 4,000 buses. Senior officials would be adopting at least one depot. This is to study the reasons for losses and suggest corrective measures. Stating that many reforms were brought in the corporation, Ajay said that government would safeguard the rights of the employees.
He warned that strict action would be taken against the officials if they are found involved in harassment of employees. He gave a phone number 9849555778 stating that he would take action within 24 hours.
He also assured to order inquiry into the irregularities committed during the strike period. He also assured to provide salary during the strike period by January 31.
