Hyderabad : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said that the ESIC, Hyderabad had provided commendable services during the Covid-19 crisis. Launching four new medical services and facilities at ESIC Hyderabad on Saturday, Reddy said that a team of doctors under the supervision of Dean Srinivas worked tirelessly to provide timely medical services to the patients with the latest innovations during the Covid-19 crisis.
The Central Minister said that the ESIC in Hyderabad was started in the year 2016 and as it is a hospital with State-of-the-art facilities affiliated to the medical college. It is a great opportunity for the students studying in this college to acquire a wide range of knowledge during their studies. ESIC Hyderabad is recognised as the only hospital in the country that has medical college offering MBBS, PG and PG super specialty courses.
He said ESIC serves about 80 lakh ESI insurance beneficiaries across the country. Reddy appreciated the ESI Hyderabad for its progress and receiving the best medical college, hospital as well as the best super specialty hospital for the year 2019, among the institutions managed by ESI Corporation. He said that it has been making remarkable progress since the inception of the medical college in all fields like patient care, medical education and research.
The services and facilities launched on Saturday, includes, Innovative Portable Point of Care (RTPCR), Remote Health Monitoring System, Covid-19 Safe Incubator for Newborn Babies and Round the Clock in-House Dialysis Services.
He said the new services will be very useful in providing better services to the needs of patients. He said referrals to outpatient hospitals were reduced due to the treatment of IP (Insured) as a VIP and State-of-the-art facilities developed by the ESI. It was a great thing to have tested about 80,000 samples so far through the first mobile virology lab set up here, he added.
He said the Centre is committed for improving the health services and infrastructure in the country. To achieve its vision of building new India the Center under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rolled out several health care schemes.
He said that the Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABS) is providing an annual Rs 5 lakh health insurance cover to access treatment at corporate hospitals anywhere in the country.
Similarly, the Jan Aushadhi Kendras are providing medicines at 50 to 90 per cent lesser cost than the market price to the people. The National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), Mission Indra Danush (MID), etc are among the other schemes are meant to provide better medical services and improving accessibility to better facilities, he said.
