Hyderabad kidnap case: AP former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya has remanded to three-day police custody in the Bowenpally kidnap cases. The court agreed to the petition filed by the police seeking the custody of Akhila Priya and also dismissed the bail plea filed by the former minister.

The police said that Akhila Priya would manipulate the witnesses if she was given bail. At present, Akhila Priya is at Chanchalguda women's jail as a remand prisoner. The police will take her into custody today from the Chanchalguda women's jail for a detailed investigation of the kidnap case.

Akhila Priya was named as the prime accused in the kidnap of three persons -- K Praveen Rao, K Sunil Rao and K Naveen Rao while senior TDP leader AV Subba Reddy was named A-2 and Akhila Priya's husband Bhargav Ram as A-3. The police deployed special teams to identify Bhargav Ram who is still absconding.

Akhila Priya's involvement in the kidnapping the three persons in a land dispute has garnered wide public attention both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to the victims, they were blindfolded and kept captive in a farmhouse in the city outskirts and forced to sign the documents. Later, they were released at Narsingi.
