Hyderabad: High Court gives nod for protest program by women
TS & AP Joint Action Committee (JAC) against CAA, NRC and NPR will be holding a day-long demonstration at Indira Park shortly.
Hyderabad: TS & AP Joint Action Committee (JAC) against CAA, NRC and NPR will be holding a day-long demonstration at Indira Park shortly. Once again the JAC knocked on the doors of High Court to seek permission, which they claimed has been granted whose order will be released on Thursday.
Earlier, the JAC after the High Court's intervention had organised 'million march' on January 4. Committee's convener Mohammed Mushtaq Malik has been trying for a 48-hour long protest in Hyderabad, but due to denial of permission from the police, it had deferred its plans in their two previous attempts. Now after the High Court once again intervened, they are optimistic of organising another grand protest programme, this time of women at Indira Park.
"On Wednesday the court has given permission for the women to hold a day-long protest programme, starting from 11 am to 5 pm in Dharna Chowk. HC will decide a date between February 8 and 9 and will issue a verdict in this regard on Thursday", he added.
Mushtaq Malik told The Hans India that to hold the protest, the JAC gave three choices including Darulshifa ground, Hockey Ground in Masab Tank and Quli Qutub Shah Stadium in Petla Burj, but the court decided on Indira Park. He said that on Thursday hearing JAC would once again request for Darulshifa ground to stage women protest.
100 km long human-chain protest
Apart from women's protest, the JAC is extending their protest programme by organising human chain across the State covering all districts. Human chain of 100 km will be covered in city, while 300 km in districts. He said that for this human chain JAC would not seek any permission from police. JAC would just intimate Director General of Police, as and when it would take decision.
He assured that during the human chain protest there would be no traffic obstruction and on Crossroads there would be no chain for free flow of traffic, he explained.
