Hyderabad: Government Whip Arekapudi Gandhi tells HMWSSB, GHMC staff to solve civic issues

• Arekapudi Gandhi advises them to attend to people's problems earnestly

• Lays stress on proper holding of 'Prajavani' and redressal of all grievances

Serilingampally: Local MLA and Government Whip Arekapudi Gandhi on Monday held a review meeting with officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) as part of 'Prajavani' programme at its Hafizpet office and advised them to immediately solve people's problems.

The legislator laid stress on proper holding of 'Prajavani' by the officials as it was intended to provide solutions to people's grievances/issues. He advised them to intervene in looking into public representations submitted during the programme.

Gandhi stated that the government had handed over the sewerage management from GHMC to HMWSSB during discussions with officials on effectively tackling the drainage issue. He called for coordination among officials of the two organisations so as to solve sewerage problems, without causing any hardship to people.

The MLA also called upon officials to create public awareness on HMWSSB staff to be contacted for solving drainage/sewerage issues, while stressing the need for strengthening its set-up. He advised the board officials to be the via media and be always available to people to ensure that there were no shortcomings in its functioning and extension of better services.

Among the HMWSSB officials present at the meeting were General Manager Rajasekhar, DGMs Narayana, Nagapriya, Managers Prabhakar and Subramanyam Raju.
