Fire accidents continue to haunt Shastripuram residents This is the second fire incident in a span of eight days

Rajendranagar: Chemical explosions and infernos in godowns filled with different kinds of inflammable material continue to haunt the residents of Shastripuram colony. Unorganised and uncontrolled by authorities these units are coming up every alternate day in and around the residential colony.

Only a week after an explosion shook the buildings near railway track in south side of Shivrampally, neighboring Shastripuram, another incident of fire occurred on Wednesday night in a scrap godown in Raghavendranagar colony which stands north side of Shastripuram colony.

The DCP Shamshabad, Prakash Reddy, ACP Rajendranagar Ashok Chakraverthi and CI Mailardevpalli K.Sathaiah Goud rushed ti the spot and took stock of the situation.

The fire accident on Wednesday night gutted a paper godown also containing plastic stuff creating a panic in the area. Though the flames were doused out with the help of a fire tender which reached the spot, on time, the smoldering continued to pollute the air for several hours.

No injuries were reported as no one was present inside the godown at the time of incident.



Interestingly, the incident took place in a godown at Raghavendranagar Colony which was honored with "Swachh Colony Award" for 2019 by GHMC Rajendranagar.

It is important to mention here that a case of polluting and scrap industries in Shastripuram residential colony has come up for hearing in the High Court recently where the Chief Justice took a serious note of laxity and maladministration on part of the officials in acting against these industries in a residential colony.

When contacted the Circle Inspector PS Mailardevpalli K Sathaiah Goud said, "No FIR has been registered so far in yesterday's fire incident in Raghavendranagar Colony. However, the police filed a case in incident that took place four days ago Near Railway Track Shivrampally and investigation is in the process."
