Jubilee Hills: Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana on Tuesday launched foundation training programs for 91 Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) of Central Secretariat Service, Government of India and 20 ASOs for Telangana Secretariat.
APVN Sarma, Advisor to Governor of Telangana, in his inaugural address, said that the government jobs, irrespective of different rungs of administrative hierarchy, provide a rare opportunity to serve the society in general and its weaker sections in particular. Government pays reasonably good salaries to lead decent lives, he said and called upon the ASOs to serve different stakeholders, with a sense of satisfaction, without comparing their salaries and benefits with their counterparts from private sector and multi-national companies.
B P Acharya, DG of HRD Institute, said that the ASOs who initiate files play an important role in improving the nature and quality of governance. He called upon the ASOs to ensure that the benefits of numerous schemes reach the weaker sections of society. "Process the files with a humane touch rather than doing so merely from a techno-legal perspective", he called upon the ASOs. He administered the oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India to the ASOs.
Dr Sunitha H Khurana, former Director, Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, GOI, said that an idealism to serve the society is a hallmark of good employees. "Make a deliberate effort to enrich your efficiency, develop a positive attitude, and perform the job with a high level of integrity", she advised the ASOs. M P Sethy, Chief Consultant (Training & e-Learning) welcomed the gathering. Dr S M Nabi, Director (Training) proposed a vote of thanks.
