Hyderabad: Telangana government will be adopting the fresh guidelines issued by the Centre for domestic and international flight travellers. While foreign returnees coming back as part of Vande Bharat mission will be kept in 7 days institutional quarantine as against 14 day period that has been followed so far. However, the remaining seven days they have to stay in home quarantine.

Health Minister Eatala Rajender directed senior officials of his department to take steps to implement fresh guidelines for air travellers right away. He thanked Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for accepting Telangana's proposal to revise institutional quarantine period from 14 to 7 days as requested by the State.

He also directed officials to shift air passengers directly to home quarantine if found to be pregnant or having cancer history or who lost their family members.

He directed the rapid response teams and health teams on the ground to keep a close tab on passengers coming from domestic flights and migrants who are returning by road and rail and those who are asymptomatic have to be kept under close watch.
