The 'Pledge against Dowry' was followed by a mini marathon, 'Run for Women's Rights,' which was flagged off by Sri Harpreet Singh, IAS. All the Officers ran for a distance of 3.5 km. The purpose of this initiative was to raise awareness for the rights of women among youth.
"Despite great strides made by the international women's rights movement over many years, women still lag behind in multiple domains. Mere legislation is not enough. A strong social movement, with the active involvement of youth, is the need of the hour", opined the Officers unanimously.
