Hyderabad: Crackdown on public places defying norms
During the inspections, the team identified 66 establishments which included institutions, gymnasiums, schools, bars and pubs etc., violating the issued orders. They were promptly sealed by the Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management Wing of GHMC on Tuesday
Hyderabad: In view of the orders issued by the Government of Telangana on Saturday, which announced closure of all the educational instructions till March 31, 2020 and shuttering of parks, theatres, museums, gymnasiums, bars and pubs, cultural events, sports events, conferences, workshops, and other social gathering establishments till March 21, the Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management, GHMC, deployed 18 teams on the filed across the GHMC limits to inspect the establishments and prevent and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
During the inspections, the team identified 66 establishments which included institutions, gymnasiums, schools, bars and pubs etc., violating the issued orders. In exercise of the powers conferred under section 2 of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 read with all the enabling provisions of Chapter III of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the establishments were later sealed by the Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management Wing of GHMC on Tuesday.
Further, it was brought to the notice that there is a public congregation in the shopping malls, hypermarkets, commercial establishments, etc., there is a need to take certain measure to contain the spread of the virus.
Further, notices have been issued to all the malls, hypermarkets, commercial establishments, etc to screen the visitors using thermal screening devices and also sanitize the entire area where there will be movement of public as many times as required and also to provide hand gloves, masks, sanitizers, etc to the staff and hand sanitizers to visitors.
