Hyderabad: CM KCR offers to produce film of Director K Viswanath
Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao desired that well known director and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, Vishwanath, who made several classic movies with lot of good values in Telugu, should make another classic film, which will be useful to the society at large.

The Chief Minister said he was ready to produce the film if Viswanath decides to direct it. CM KCR went to the residence of Viswanath on Sunday at the Film Nagar here. Viswanath, his wife Mrs Jayalakshmi, his son Ravindranath, Daughter in law Gowri, Director N Shankar have accorded a warm welcome to the CM. Sri KCR has felicitated Viswanath and his wife with shawls. Viswanath's family members have also felicitated the CM. Along with the CM, Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLC Seri Subhash Reddy, TRS general secretary Sravankumar Reddy and others visited.
In the meeting interesting discussions took place on films, Telugu language and literature between the CM and Viswanath for about half an hour.
"I am your fan. I loved your films since my childhood. I saw each and every film that you have made. I watched Shankarabharanam film for about 25 times. I saw your film repeatedly. Every time I watched your film I felt like meeting you personally. My desire is fulfilled today. Each film that you make is like a poem. You make films with dedication and like Tapasya. Every department, whether it is selecting the actors, dialogues, language that used, every scene, songs, picturisation, art excel in all aspects. Your films can be watched by the entire family sitting together. This is precisely the reason why I watch your films even today whenever I find the time. My affection towards you has brought me here. I think I am fortunate to have met you personally and talked to you. You have not made any film for the past ten years. Now a days we are not getting good films which are message oriented. You have to make a film again. If you agree to make the film with the help of your assistants, I am ready to take care of the production part of it. Please make a plan for this," the CM requested Viswanath.
"With your visit our house became pious. You, yourself are visiting our house, is our good fortune. When you called me up yesterday night and said you will be visiting my house, I thought that somebody mimicking your voice. But later when I found that you have spoken to me I did not sleep till 12 midnight. I have been watching your good work and your basic nature of working hard for the people I came to know through reports in newspapers on TVs. I am personally meeting you for the first time. Once Tamil Nadu CM MGR came to my house and now you have graced my house for which I am happy," Viswanath said.
When the CM enquired about his health, Viswanath said, "My health is fine. But I have knee joints pain. Doctors say they will perform the replacement operation but I am scared of operation. I am scared of hospitals. Even in my films I never put Hospital scenes. I am scared of watching blood. Then how will I undergo operation? I will continue and manage like this," Viswanath said.
Viswanath also complimented the CM by saying, "You have a wonderful grip over the Telugu language and literature. You have organised the World Telugu Conference on a grand scale. You are a great orator and have liking over the Arts." On asked from when the CM got the taste of Telugu language and literature, KCR replied that he got it from the company of his great teachers.
Speaking to the CM, Viswanath's wife Jayalakshmi said, "You have built Kaleswaram project on a large scale. Farmers' problems will be solved with this. I could see happiness in your eyes when water coming from the Kaleswaram. I am sure your aim of giving irrigation water in the state will be successful."
To this, the CM said there is availability of water in both the Krishna and Godavari Rivers, both the Telugu states should utilise them for the welfare of farmers. Both the States government are on the job, he said.
Viswanath asked on how the CM was able to withstand the criticism despite the fact that he was constructing the projects with lot of hard work. To this, the CM replied," These things have become habitual for me in politics. I am not taking any conginsance of the baseless criticism as I am working with the aim of bettering the lives of people. Viswanath blessed the CM and said that for all the good work undertaken for people's welfare God will have his blessings to it.
KCR said that there is a lot scope for the film industry develop further in Hyderabad and added that the government would come out with a new policy on the film industry.
