Hyderabad: The Chief Secretaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh held first inter-State meeting at the Telangana Secretariat here on Thursday and discussed mainly the long-pending division of assets issues.

Significantly, in the meeting of Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh K Chandrashekar Rao and YS Jaganmohan Reddy respectively on January 13, it was decided to resolve the division issues under Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Bifurcation Act, 2014 on a priority basis.

The State government companies and corporations such as AP State Seeds Development Corporation Ltd and Andhra Pradesh Housing Board come under schedule 9 and the training institutes and other centres such as the AP Forest Academy, State Board of Technical Education and Training and the State Institute of Educational Technology are listed under 10th schedule.

On the instruction of the two CMs, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and his AP counterpart Neelam Sawhney held the first meeting.

The officials have taken up institution wise discussions to find the ways to address the challenges before the two governments in the division of the assets.

" It is decided to continue the dialogue further on the issues from time to time," the officials said. The meeting was also attended by Telangana State Finance Secretary K Rama Krishna Rao and AP official L Premchandra Reddy who were looking after the division issues between the two States.
