Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said the Centre had allocated 15 flights for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission (VBM).

In a statement on Thursday, Reddy said the Centre is making all necessary arrangements to bring back the stranded Indian citizens in 31 countries.

In the second phase of the VBM scheduled from May 16 to 22, the Center will be pressing into service 149 flights to fetch stranded Indian citizens.

Accordingly, the Centre has allocated 16 flights for Telangana and 9 flights for Andhra Pradesh.

Similarly, flights have also been allocated to other states of Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Bihar, UP, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, J&K, he added.

Indian citizens stranded in Singapore, USA, Canada, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Australia, Qatar, Indonesia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Oman, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, France, Ireland, Japan, Georgia, Kuwait, Germany, Tajikistan, Bahrain, Armenia, Thailand, Belarus, Nigeria, Italy, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Though the Indian passport holders and those facing trouble and returnees in an emergency would be given preference during the second phase, he asked other Indian citizens not to worry as bringing them back to the country will be a continuing process and all others stranded abroad will be brought back to India soon.
