Citizenship (Amendment) Act was intended to check the entry of illegal entry into the country of foreigners and it would not be applicable to any Indian
Serilingampally: State BJP executive committee member Jnanendra Prasad on Friday urged people not to have any apprehensions with regard to the citizenship amendment act (CAA).
Addressing an awareness meeting on CAA in R &B complex and video colony, under the leadership of Miyapur party division president Manic Rao, he underlined the importance of everyone becoming aware of the act, while seeking to clarify that it was intended to check the entry of illegal entry into the country of foreigners and that the CAA would not be applicable to any Indian.
The BJP leader accused the opposition parties to misinformation campaign on the CAA. In view of this, people should have proper awareness on the Act. He alleged that the TRS, the Congress and the Communist parties were trying to create fears among Muslims that the CAA would deprive them of citizenship for their political ends.
Prasad asserted that people should realise reality after the government made announcements on the CAA in parliament. He congratulated the newly appointed Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay and Ranga Reddy district unit head Bokka Narsimha Reddy.
Among those present at the meeting were BJP state council mentor Manohar, district party leaders Ravi Goud, division leaders Ramakrishna, Lakshman, Vijayender, Babu Reddy, Ratnakar, Anil, and party activists.
