Basheerbagh: National BC Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah on Monday demanded a minimum wage of Rs 20,000 to hotels worker across the State, as provided in the Minimum Wages Amendment Act. Speaking after attending the meeting of Telangana Hotel Workers' Association chaired by Srinivas, he called for job security to the workers, besides provision of basic facilities to them like PF, ESI and accidental insurance coverage.
Krishnaiah also wanted scholarship and fee reimbursement to the children of hotel workers. Other speakers like MLC Ramulu Naik, former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Prof M Kodandaram wanted the government to take steps for extending all facilities to the hotel workers.
Those present at the meeting included vice-presidents of the association R Ramesh Goud, B Bhaskar, general secretary K Nageswar Rao, joint secretary A Sailayya, organising secretary N Lakshman, treasurer Erra Venkatesh, vice-president of National BC Welfare Association Gujju Krishna. Singer Narsimhulu received wide appreciation for his items on hotel workers.
