TRS working president K T Rama Rao terms the victory of the pink party as a historical mandate and says that it only increases the responsibility of the leaders

Hyderabad: Calling the victory of the party in the MPTC and ZPTC elections as a historical mandate by the people, TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Tuesday said that the victory only increased the responsibility of the party leaders.

Addressing a press conference along with ministers after taking part in the victory celebrations at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao said that the mandate by the people was unprecedented and historical.

He said that people of the State showed confidence in Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's leadership. "This victory is historical because people gave 75 per cent seats to TRS in Assembly elections.

Now the party is going to get all the 32 Zilla Parishad posts without support of any other party. There will be no such one- sided mandate in any State of the country," said KTR thanking the people for the one-sided voting in favour of TRS.

KTR said that the TRS has seen ups and downs during its journey and this victory only increased the responsibility of TRS leaders. People of the State have rejected the opposition parties.

"Once again it is proved that whichever election it is either ballot or EVM, the TRS will be victorious," said KTR. He said that in six districts the opposition parties did not open their account and in another six districts, the opposition could win only one seat.

He refused to comment on the remarks of the opposition party leaders. He said that many leaders talked after Lok Sabha elections but TRS accepted the mandate humbly. This election proved how strong base the TRS has in the State.

He asked the in-charges to be cautious till the ZP chairperson, vice-chairperson and cooption member elections.

Replying to a question, he said that the party would analyse the party performance in Lok Sabha elections.

"May be country's mood was different and people wanted Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and now they want TRS locally," said KTR.

Ministers Md Mahmood Ali, V Srinivas Goud, T Srinivas Yadav and others were also present.
