High-tech conference hall coming up at BRKR Bhavan
With no possibility of a new secretariat building coming up till legal hurdles are overcome, the state government has decided to take up works to improve infrastructure facilities at the temporary secretariat at the BRKR Bhavan in the city.
Hyderabad: With no possibility of a new secretariat building coming up till legal hurdles are overcome, the state government has decided to take up works to improve infrastructure facilities at the temporary secretariat at the BRKR Bhavan in the city.
To enable ministers and top officials to hold meetings, a swanky high-tech conference hall is being built on the terrace of the ninth floor of the Bhavan. This new hall with all modern facilities is likely to become functional from March.
Officials said the conference hall will be as modern as the one that is there in the secretariat building which is to be demolished. This hall was used by all ministers and top officials to hold video conference on regular basis.
Since the BRKR Bhavan is located on the banks of Hussain Sagar where the wind speed is high during rainy season, officials said the new conference hall will be a heavy wind proof structure and can withstand any natural disaster.
Officials said the TSIIC (Telangana State Industry and Infrastructure Corporation) was entrusted with the responsibility of the constructing the hall using the available new technology.
The officials said the government has taken up the job of the construction of the conference hall after the ministers and officials requested it to create a facility to hold meetings in the temporary secretariat.
Due to lack of a big hall, the department secretaries were forced to hold their regular meetings outside the secretariat which caused a big inconvenience to carry the files and other logistic support.
