Karimnagar: The administration has declared health emergency in district after learning about that eight Indonesians who toured in the Karimnagar city tested positive to coronavirus.

The officials are taking precautionary steps by keeping restriction in 3 kilometers radius in the Collectorate and Mukaramapuram areas where the Indonesians stayed and are conducting health survey by visiting door-to-door collecting the details of the people living those particular areas.

On the orders from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar, City Mayor Y Shekar Rao along with Medical and Health officials are participating in the health survey and suggesting the people not to come and stay in their houses until further information is released. Hundreds of people suffering from cold and cough visited the government hospital since morning. The doctors after testing them referred the suspected cases to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. The doctors declared that any person was not found with symptoms of coronavirus.

Most of the people following the government orders remained indoors by closing their shops, hotels and other business voluntarily. The entire city looked deserted and it appeared that curfew had imposed in entire district.

Meanwhile, the Police department is enquiring all the people where the Indonesians resided by taking the issue very seriously. The people who used to visit the Collectorate in hundreds is now looking deserted and is closed with orders issued by the government.

The temple authorities also closed all temples and are performing only Ekantha Sevalu for the gods within the temple without allowing the devotees into the temples. The officials are also focusing more in the industrial region Ramagundam and Godavarikani and Gulf return areas in Jagitial district and collecting the details of foreign return people. With decrease in number of passengers, the RTC has stopped some of the bus services.
