For the first time in recent years, the number of students in government schools has gone up in the Adilabad district.

Adilabad: For the first time in recent years, the number of students in government schools has gone up in the Adilabad district.

Parents are increasingly preferring to admit their children in government school. The measures taken by the State government have given impetus for the development of schools and improvement in results in public examinations.

There are 18 mandals in Adilabad district. There are 346 high schools, 853 upper primary schools and 69 primary schools. There are 1,268 government schools in the district.

The number of students in the government schools has gone up this year. The strength of students in government schools has gone up to 92, 370, of them the number of boys is 45,055 and girls 47,315.

Under Badi Bata programme, which was held from June 14 to 19, a total of 9,848 students were enrolled in different government schools.

Anganwadi teachers, lecturers and social workers helped the officials during Badi Bata programme to create awareness among the people. It has led to improvement in student strength in government schools.

Adilabad District Education Officer A.Ravinder Reddy told The Hans India that measures had been taken to develop the schools and the standard of teaching in government schools.

The government school excelled in achieving results in public examinations.
