Hyderabad: Outsourcing fourth-class employees working in various State hospitals and health centres in Hyderabad on Tuesday called off strike on assurance of payment of salaries. The contracting agency assured them to credit salaries in their bank accounts in next two days.

According to M Narsimha, president of the TS Medical Contract Employees and Workers Union, the contractor assured us of crediting May salary into the bank accounts on Thursday and June salary on Friday due to issues concerning crediting lump sum amount at once in the banks. Hence the dues would be cleared in two-days.

The union president stated that government issued a cheque of Rs 8 crore on Tuesday evening, which would be split to respective superintendents in each hospital, who then would credit the money to a contractor to be given to the outsourcing staff. These outsourcing employees includes sanitation staff, helpers, ward boys who are facing woes due to delay in payment of salaries.
