Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar promises 'surgical strikes' in Old City
With four days left for the voting day, the State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar led a frontal attack on TRS and MIM, saying if the party wins GHMC and mayorship in the civic polls, "We will conduct a surgical strike on Old City to pack off the Rohingiyas, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis illegally staying in the Old City."
Hyderabad: With four days left for the voting day, the State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar led a frontal attack on TRS and MIM, saying if the party wins GHMC and mayorship in the civic polls, "We will conduct a surgical strike on Old City to pack off the Rohingiyas, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis illegally staying in the Old City."
The Karimnagar MP hit the city roads with his roadshow here on Tuesday, raising the election heat with his rustic rhetoric and taking caustic jibes at the TRS, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Minister KT Rama Rao and AIMIM chief in a bid to win over the voters.
Bandi Sanjay said, "We will win GHMC mayorship. We have resolved to conduct surgical strikes in Old City." He appealed to people that elections would come and go, seats and votes come and go. "The facts need to be told to people that about 40,000 Rohingyas are illegally sheltered in Old City. AIMIM is turning them into its vote-back and it is supported by the TRS." That apart, he alleged, " Old City has become an 'Adda" (home) for goons from countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afganistan have been illegally taking shelter. Besides, the Popular Front of India, (PFI) known for his illegal activities and banned in the Kerala state of India has been indiscriminately operating in the Old City." The BJP has resolved to conduct surgical strike to oust such illegal anti-national forces taking shelter in the Old city.
Touching the raw nerve and drawing crowds in good numbers all along his roadshow, the State BJP chief called the GHMC elections a battle between the nationalistic patriots and anti-national traitors.
Lashing at the TRS calling the BJP and its leaders communal, referring to the remarks of AIMIM leaders made in the past, he said, "They belittle Hindus, Hindu Dharma and insult Hindu gods and godesses. And, hold funeral processsions and conduct condolence meetings for anti-nationals." The TRS supporting such party as part of its minority appeasement political agenda.
Reiterating the BJP is not against anyone and anything and its commitment to 'Dharam' will uphold the rights of 80 per cent of Hindus, Bandi Sanjay Kumar explained how the Hindu BCs were deprived due to the inclusion of Muslims under the said category. Out of 40 seats in the GHMC about 23 had been captured by the AIMIM, which, in fact, should go to Hindu BCs. Similarly, the CM promised 12 per cent reservations to Muslims. But, he was denying 10 per cent reservations provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in Telangana. He appealed to Hindus to unite into vote bank to defeat TRS MIM.
