GHMC distributes saplings to KV students
As part of Haritha – Haram programme, the GHMC officials conducted plant distribution programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya of Kanchanbagh, where saplings were distributed amongst students and faculty members.
Santoshnagar: As part of Haritha – Haram programme, the GHMC officials conducted plant distribution programme at Kendriya Vidyalaya of Kanchanbagh, where saplings were distributed amongst students and faculty members.
Deputy Commissioner, Shirley Pushyaragam, who was the chief guest, encouraged the children to plant saplings in the premises of their houses and called upon for convincing others in this direction, so that these small plants grow to become big trees and provide better environment to the coming generations. The programme was attended by Principal of the School, Virendra Kumar.
Saaf Hyderabad, Shandaar Hyderabad Earlier in a coordinated programme with NGO, Save Foundation, the GHMC awareness programme of Slum Level Federation (SLF) as part of 'Saaf – Hyderabad Shaandaar Hyderabad' was also organised in Uppuguda Ward under Chandrayangutta Circle.
Speaking at the programme, Uppuguda corporator, Fahad Bin Abdat cautioned the locals from throwing garbage in open and to coordinate with garbage collectors in clearing it daily in their localities.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the residents to maintain hygiene and sanitary in their respective areas. For this she encouraged them to segregate the dry and wet garbage before handing over to the garbage collection vehicles and also distributed saplings amongst the residents in this programme.
The programme was attended by Deputy Project Officer, N Venu Gopal, Save Foundation, CEO, M Krishna, HMWSSB officer, Satyanarayana, Entomologist, G Srinivas and members of women groups and local leaders.
Similar programmes were organized at Pattergatti ward of Charminar Circle, where local corporators, Sohail Quadri along with environmental specialists, doctors from Urban Health Centres and community organisers took part.
