Coronavirus in Hyderabad: A former MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. Soon after his reports turned positive, the healthcare officials conducted tests on his family members -- wife, son and daughter-in-law who are also tested positive. They were shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

The former MLA neither have domestic or international travel history nor is a primary or secondary contact of a coronavirus patient. However, he is believed to have been contracted the virus while engaging in social activities. It is learned that the former MLA has been engaged in many social activities including 'feed the needy' and the last programme he participated was on May 24 in Jubilee Hills.

The health condition of the BJP leader and his family members is said to be stable.

On Sunday, the state reported 199 coronavirus positive cases taking the total number of cases to 2,698 including 434 migrants, foreign returnees and deported citizens. Currently, the total number of active cases in the state are 1,188 and the total recoveries were 1,428.
