Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar said the TRS government is determined for the development of fishermen community present across the State.
Jagtial: Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar said the TRS government is determined for the development of fishermen community present across the State.
He distributed fishing nets and life jackets to about 117 fishermen, belonging to Dharmapuri, Velgatur and Gollapalli mandals of Dharampuri constituency at Padmanayaka Function Hall in Jagtial on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government is distributing fishing nets and life jackets worth Rs 20,000 each to every fisherman, who enrolled their name in the society of their respective regions.
The government will sanction a subsidy of Rs 15,000 to the fishermen to buy fishing nets and life jackets and the remaining amount Rs 5,000 must be paid by the fishermen, he added.
Following the orders by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, free fish seeds will be distributed to the fishermen for growing them in lakes and tanks that have been restored in
Mission Kakatiya project for their economic development. By utilising this opportunity, the people belonging to fishermen community must develop financially, Minister Eshwar appealed.
MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, Joint Collector B Rajesham, Fisheries department officer Prathap, ZPTCs and MPTCs were present along with others.
