South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya advised all the Divisional Managers to find out the root causes of each and every failure by analyzing them technically and scientifically to resolve to make the system foolproof.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya advised all the Divisional Managers to find out the root causes of each and every failure by analyzing them technically and scientifically to resolve to make the system foolproof. He stated that every equipment needs a reliability test in frequent intervals so that failures of the equipment can be minimized.

He conducted a detailed review meeting on safety and punctuality today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

Gajanan Mallya stressed on track failures, loco failures and asset failures which are affecting the train safety and punctuality and advised that the issue has to be taken as highest of priority and to be addressed at the earliest. He suggested the Divisional Railway Managers to plan traffic blocks in advance for track maintenance works and get the optimal output. He also advised the officers to maintain the staff training / refresher training records properly and technical staff to be sent for refresher courses without fail, particularly train running and technical staff.

The General Manager reviewed the progress of the registration process of UMID (Unique Medical Identity Card) of the employees and retired employees of the South Central Railway Zone. He advised the DRMs to make arrangements to register the employees / retired employees in the UMID at their offices / loco sheds / hospitals. He also detailed the officers about the latest guidelines from the Railway Board regarding UMID.

Additional General Manger John Thomas and senior officials were also present in the meeting.
