Fake certificates row hits treasury department

Medak: It has been alleged that several government officials are getting promotions using fake certificates. One of the main allegations is that the authorities are sanctioning promotions without verifying the sanctity of the certificates.

One such incident at Sub Treasury Office (STO) here has become the talk of the town. A women employee who is now continuing as sub-treasurer is raising questions among people.

Especially, the contractors were surprised about her knowledge in numbers. The treasury deals with accounts and amounts, but a person who cannot write correctly and spell the amount is dealing everything here, said a contractor on the condition of anonymity.

Some of them already complained to the District Collector about her. It is learnt that the officers in the STO admitted that there was something fishy about her. Even district treasury officials also responded and there is a chance of inquiry into the matter.
