Vikarabad: The district officials have been in news for the past several months. Controversies have become common and higher officials are cracking the whip on the erring officials. But, some higher officials also faced sudden transfers, though real reasons are not known.

The then District SP, T Annapurna, was transferred during Assembly polls, as she had ordered the arrest of Congress candidate Revanth Reddy. The then Collector Syed Umar Jaleel also faced ire of the Election Commission.

Alleging tampering of EVMs, former Minister G Prasad Kumar approached the High Court. While the case was under trail, the collector opened the EVMs. Prasad Kumar complained the Election Commission, and the collector was suspended.

The Deputy DM & HO Chandramouli (Kesari Chandraiah) was landed in ACB net, while taking a bribe of Rs 30, 000 for sanctioning permission for a scanning centre.

Recently, Vikarabad Circle Inspector Seethaiah celebrated his birthday in the police station, along with the leaders of political parties, while election code was in force. He was attached to the district SP office.

A constable beat a person on the road, and he was attached to the DGP office. And in a latest development, Vikarabad DSP Sirisha Raghavendra was also attached to the DSP office. Though it is cited that the transfer is on administrative grounds, the actual reasons are yet to be known.

Some officers were suspended and others were transferred. Some are caught by ACB and some went viral on social media for their rude behaviour. People of the district say the developments indicate the situation of administration in the district.
