Nizamabad: District Collector M Rammohan Rao called upon the doctors to provide minimum facilities in Primary Health Centres (PHCs). He oversaw the 30-day action plan at Ranjal and Dupalli villages in the district on Wednesday.

He made a surprise inspection of Primary Health Centre at Ranjal mandal headquarters and interacted with Dr Christina and the patients. He inquired about the facilities currently available and the performance of the staff and discussed for about one hour with Dr Christina about the minimum steps that should be taken at PHCs. He urged veterinarians to ensure that emergency medicines are available in all villages, especially in villages where veterinary medicine is of utmost importance.

Later the Collector visited Ranjal village cemetery and expressed outrage as the construction is not yet begun. He questioned the village secretary reason for the delay and chided him for not giving a proper answer. He questioned the village secretary as to why hadn't paid attention since the cemetery was granted two years ago.

Collector M Rammohan Rao suggested that each village panchayat should assess how much it would cost to install a third wire in streetlight system to turn off the lights during day in villages. He also advised them to buy a tractor, trailer and water tanker so that Ranjal village would get more funds. He told the sarpanch and the villagers to take care of the saplings after planting them and to provide tree guard. He also directed to maintain cleanliness in the village.

The Collector warned the sarpanches to do their duty perfectly as per the new law, the Collectors have the right to remove sarpanches if anyone complains against the latter. "Don't give a chance to me to take action against you," Collector Rammohan Rao told the sarpanch.
