DRSC discuss measures to reduce road accidents in city

Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Road Safety Committee meeting was convened with all stake holder departments at Traffic Complex, Nampally here on Thursday.
Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar presided over the District Road Safety Committee meeting arranged in compliance to the guidelines of the Supreme Court of India to discuss and take up remedial measures for the reduction of road accidents in Hyderabad City.
The Addl. CP. Traffic, along with other heads of stakeholder departments, elaborately discussed about the improvement of junctions, construction of foot over bridges and sky ways, identification of Black Spots for accidents, break down of RTC Buses on the roads causing traffic congestion during peak hours, identification of water logging places, requirements of rumble strips, erecting of signages, construction of bus bays and bus shelters etc., with a view to improve safety of commuters and reduction of road accidents.
Anil Kumar, while addressing the meeting, has emphasized that the District Road Safety Committee meeting will be held regularly for every three months and the issues identified shall be rectified by the concerned departments to avoid road accidents. He further reiterated the importance of providing infrastructure by stake holder departments and requested them to redress each issue brought to their knowledge for making Hyderabad City safe and to save precious lives.
