The distribution of Rs 10,000 flood relief ex-gratia which halted due to the election code will be resumed from December 7, said the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

"There is no state in India which is not experienced floods. Cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Delhi had also witnessed floods. It is also unfortunate that Hyderabad city also received floods which cause severe damage to the citizens," he said.

The CM said that he was deeply moved by the lives of people in floods and decided to support them. He added that none of them has approached to compensate the flood victims and was its sole decision to announce Rs 10,000 financial assistance to the people.

"No government has provided Rs 10,000 flood relief aid to each household even the states ruled by the BJP and Congress," Rao said.

He continued that around 6.5 lakh people received the flood aid for which the government has spent Rs 650 crore so far. The TRS supremo further asked the people to apply for the flood aid through Mee-Seva centres in the city after the completion of GHMC election i.e, from December 7.
