Disabled are God's children: Karimnagar ZP chief Vijaya

Karimnagar: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kanumalla Vijaya said the government is striving hard for the welfare and development of disabled persons present across the State.

District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed inaugurated a rally at Old High School on International Day of Disabled Persons, which continued to the collectorate in Karimnagar on Tuesday. Later a meeting was held on the occasion at the Collectorate auditorium under District Welfare department.

The chief guest at the meeting, ZP Chairperson K Vijaya said the disabled persons are the children of gods and will have fair heart.

Many people in the society are physically able but has a wicked mind and committing crimes. But the disabled are innocent and will not harm anyone, who should be respected, she added.

'The people with disabilities must not lose heart and should strive hard to grow in their life. The government is determined to develop them, hence introduced several welfare schemes for their welfare. They must utilise them and must develop economically,' she appealed. Cultural activities performed by the disabled children attracted the audience.

MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, MLA S Ravi Shankar, SUDA Chairman Rama Krishna Rao, district welfare officer Sharada, DRDO Project Director Venkateshwarlu, DEO Durga Prasad, MEMPA Project Director Pavan Kumar, District Legal Cell Authority secretary Sanjay, Lead Bank Manager Ramesh Kumar and the state president of Disabled Graduate Association Laxman were present along with others.
