Karimnagar: With a view of providing safety to the people travelling in passenger vehicles, the Karimnagar Police Commissionerate has introduced new Passenger Vehicle Digitalisation system in association with Valve Data Private Limited Organisation, under which every passenger vehicle will be given a digital code along with QR code (Quick Response Code).

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy said that under this Passenger Vehicle Digitalisation system, a unique number will be installed with QR code to every passenger vehicle, which can be used by the people with any mobile phone. If they have smart mobiles, they can download the QR code scanner app.

After scanning the digital board and QR code, which will be installed on passenger vehicle, the passengers will get complete details of the owner of the vehicle. This includes emergency call and text services. As soon as the passengers either dial an emergency call or texts a message, it will automatically connect to the Command Control Room and to the nearest police station, he informed.

"Around 7,117 private vehicles have been registered till date under Karimnagar Police Commissionerate (KPC) limits. In order to provide security and safety to the people, the KPC has introduced this digitalisation system. The QR code is linked with Hawk Eye and TS-COP apps with which the details of the passengers where they are exactly present can be identified with ease," the Police Commissioner explained.
