Warangal: The governance of the BJP is based on Bharatiya Jana Sangh co-founder Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's political philosophy - Integral Humanism, which advocates the simultaneous and integrated programme of the body, mind and soul of each human being, former minister Gunde Vijayarama Rao said.
Paying floral tributes to Upadhyay on his 103rd birth anniversary here on Wednesday, he said that Upadhyay, who worked relentlessly for the upliftment of people at the grassroot level, was a man with a strong vision and ideology.
"The BJP, which is working with the spirit of Upadhyay's fundamental mantra - Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas (together with all, development for all), – is striving hard to ensure welfare and development programmes to distressed sections," Rao said.
Warangal Urban party district president Rao Padma said that Upadhyay maintained the highest standards of personal integrity and was the source of moral inspiration and strength for other leaders.
Referring to his achievements and contributions as a social thinker, educationalist, politician, economist, writer and speaker, she said that Upadhyay remains an idol for every politician. "Upadhyay, who advocated a holistic alternative perspective for political action, was a strong critic of both communism and capitalism," Padma said. The leaders, who attended the programme, said that Upadhyay's life's message of serving the most downtrodden with compassion.
Former MLA Kondeti Sridhar, senior leaders Sarotham Reddy, Yadagiri. Dr Vijayalaxmi, Rao Amarender Reddy, Kolanu Santhosh Reddy, S Jagadeeshwar, M Suresh, P Rajendra Prasad, M Ramesh and M Narender were among others present.
Upadhyay, who was born in Nagla Chandrabhan (now known as Deendayal Dham) in Mathura District of Uttar Pradesh, on September 25, 1916, joined as RSS Pracharak in 1942. He was the co-founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, along with Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He worked as party's Uttar Pradesh general secretary, and later as the all-India general secretary.
