Three buyers detained; police recover seized motorcycles as investigation intensifies

Saidulu
Nalgonda: In a shocking case of alleged misconduct, a police constable is accused of selling motorcycles seized in criminal cases at Nakrekal police station for personal gains, raising serious questions about the security of vehicles kept in police custody.
According to sources, the alleged irregularities took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. The constable, identified as Saidulu, reportedly sold seized motorcycles to people known to him for prices ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs. 15,000 each, allegedly using the money for his personal luxuries.
The matter has reportedly come to light recently, with details of the alleged illegal transactions emerging one after another. Police have detained three persons who allegedly purchased the motorcycles and are questioning them as part of the investigation.
Officials have reportedly recovered three motorcycles so far and are verifying the circumstances under which they were sold.
The issue has drawn the serious attention of Nalgonda district Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar, who is reportedly taking the matter seriously.
Saidulu is currently posted at Kethepally police station. However, he is reportedly absconding as the investigation gathers momentum.
The investigation is expected to establish how the seized vehicles were disposed of, who was involved in the transactions and whether there were any lapses in the police station’s vehicle custody records.
