EVMs from seven Assembly segments in Peddapalli Parliamentary constituency will be brought to JNTUH College in Manthani after election.

Peddapalli: EVMs from seven Assembly segments in Peddapalli Parliamentary constituency will be brought to JNTUH College in Manthani after election. Three-tier security is being set up with the police and surveillance with CCTV cameras will be increased around the strong room, stated District Collector Sri Devasena. The Collector, who is also Peddapalli Lok Sabha Election Returning Officer, visited Ramagiri JNTUH College in Manthani revenue division on Monday and said Command Control will be set for EVMS security in the college.

The 3-tier police security system includes central reserve police force (CRPF) in the first circle, State reserve police in the second circle and the district police will cover the third circle. She said that election observers will check the site on April 12 and changes will be made as per their suggestions.

District-level officer will be appointed as in-charge officer for each Assembly constituency till the counting of votes concludes. Leaders of political parties can monitor the EVMs for 24 hours from the command control. The CCTV cameras fixed in each strong room will be connected to the command control, from where the entire college premises can be checked.

The Collector explained that there are 654 ballot units, 349 control units and 323 VPPATs in Peddapalli; 572 ballot units, 305 control units and 323 VPPATs in Dharmapuri; 661 ballot units, 350 control units and 371 VPPATs in Manthani; 586 ballot units, 315 control units and 336 VPPATs in Ramagundam; and 503 ballot units, 258 control units and 289 VPPATs in Bellampally Assembly segment. The EVMs of these segments will be kept in the ground floor of the college.

There are 643 ballot units, 328 control units and 369 VPPATs in Manchiryal; and 513 ballot units, 261 control units and 293 VPPATs in Chennoor Assembly segment, which will be stored in the second floor of the college. Joint Collector Vanaja Devi, RDO Nagesh and other officials accompanied the Collector.
