Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal advised all the political parties and contesting candidates to release advertisements to newspapers, TV channels and social media sites after getting prior permission from the district Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC). On Sunday, he inaugurated both media centre and the MCMC Centre at DPRO office in the Collectorate.

Stating that MCMC consisting of District Revenue Officer, District Public Relations Officer, publicity officer and District Information Officer (DIO) will examine the media violations by contesting candidates, the Collector informed that permission to political advertisements would be given by the MCMC if content of the advertisement sticks to the guidelines of the Election Commission.

Special attention will be paid to paid news articles published in newspapers, telecasted in TV channels and appeared in social media sites and notices would be served to candidates through Returning Officers and amount of paid news would be added to candidates expenditure, the Collector warned. District Revenue Officer Ravindranath, DPRO Srinivas and others took part in the programme.
