Gadwal: The Gadwal police paid rich tributes to the outgoing Superintendent of Police KP Laxmi Nayak on Friday. The SP, who was going to retire on June 30, said that during his 10-month stay in Gadwal, he had received full cooperation from all sections of the society. He said particularly the police staff in Gadwal did their best to ensure the elections were held peacefully without any single untoward incident.

"In the past 10 months, the Gadwal police have done immensely well. Particularly, handling the security during elections was a big challenge. Five months of continuous elections had been a tough task. But with the support of each and every constable and the senior officials, we could succeed in conducting elections peacefully without any single incident of violence," said the SP, while thanking everyone who supported him during his stay in Gadwal.

As a mark of respect, the police personnel conducted march past and gave a grand salutation to the SP. Later, the SP commended the Parade commander RI Nagesh and Ramesh Nayak for displaying an excellent police parade.

Additional SP K Krishna, Gadwal DSP Shakeer Hussain, Armed Forces DSP T. Bharat, Gadwal Circle Inspector of Police Hanmanthu, Shantinagar Circle inspector Guru Nayudu, Alampur CI Raju, Regional Inspectors Nagesh Ramesh Nayak and all Sub Inspectors across Gadwal district took part in the farewell.
