Hyderabad: State BJP headquarters wore a festive look with leaders and party activists distributing sweets and bursting crackers to celebrate the party winning power at the Centre for second terms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As soon as the leads pouring in indicated that the saffron party was on its way to landslide win at the Centre and trends showed the party winning four Lok Sabha seats in the State, party workers from different parts of the city and the adjacent districts descended on the party State headquarters at Nampally.
Reacting to the party's victor State BJP chief Dr K Laxman said that the opposition parties had tried every trick in the book to belittle the five-years of Prime Minister Modi's achievements and to play divisive politics.
However, people have rejected the single point of agenda to unseat Modi from power mounted by the opposition parties. He said it was a clear indication for the regional parties running their dynastic politics to open their eyes to the reality and to mend their ways, he added.
The parties opposing Modi had stooped so low and they did not even spare to criticize the clothes he wears, the food he eats, his caste and even dragging his family members into the political rhetoric.
Referring to the slogan given by the TRS working president K T Rama Rao, "Car, Sir and Padaharu", he said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as a strong force to defeat even the Chief Minister's daughter and sitting Nizamabad MP K Kavitha.
